I’ve always had an affinity towards the YSL logo for its typographic beauty (I’m a self-taught graphic designer). After being in Marrakech, a place where Yves Saint Laurent spent a whole lot of time, I was even more inspired to have my first Saint Laurent bag. We visited the Majorelle Gardens, which YSL along with his spouse Pierre Bergé purchased to restore to its full cacti-centric appeal–Yves Saint Laurent himself is buried in the gardens. After visiting the Majorelle gardens in Marrakech, and falling even more in love with Yves Saint Laurent, we came at the local La Mamounia Hotel–lo and behold, there is a fucking Saint Laurent store!! I tried on the YSL Black Chevron WOC (shown below), but I hesitated and decided no, I couldn’t. “It’s meant to be,” I thought. And therefore, she is MINE!The Saint Laurent WOC includes a quilted leather chevron style and a massive silver ‘YSL’ emblem in the centre with a string and leather which may be worn across the chest, over the shoulder, or removed to carry it as a clutch. However, this tiny pink tote is an exception. Since muscle fatigue is among the several symptoms I fight with due to my Fibromyalgia, I’ve grown to adore carrying small crossbody bags that only fulfill my bare essentials, which is precisely what this bag does.
If there’s any make-up collection that we want to recommend, we want to yell ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ as loudly as we can. You see, Saint Laurent goes beyond just making cosmetics, they are innovative, delight and charming. Some of them even became an iconic, like the YSL Touche Éclat Collection.
For the Fall 2014, we want to introduce the Cuirs Fétiches Collection, it’s the spot where the rock and chic meet – you will gold flashing, colors from iron gray to shiny bronze, contrast between nudes and fresh pink, a playful line and full of charm. These make-ups can make any woman dangerously flirting. Available at stores like Nordstrom & Sephora.
